Region Leaders
As part of our new collaborative approach, we’re launching Region Leaders across the country. This is an exciting opportunity for those wanting to become a leader in our Community of Practice and work directly with Social Prescribing USA.
Region Leaders will:
Build relationships with local social prescribers and programs. Lead monthly meetings for your region!
Attend monthly Region Leader calls with SP USA supervisors.
Support occasional projects (like interviews or storytelling)
Share updates with SP USA about any notable developments, research, or initiatives (e.g. the University of Florida’s recent report, Cleveland's Clinic work on social prescribing)
Share important updates from SP USA to your region
Most importantly, serve as connectors and reporters for their region
Region Leaders must be able to make a one year commitment.
Thank you so much for your interest in being a Region Leader! If selected, someone on behalf of Social Prescribing USA will reach out by November 15th, 2025. Region Leader training will be held November 2025, and Region Leader positions will begin January 2026.
Social Prescribing Workgroups
Over the next year, Social Prescribing USA is launching a series of interactive, topic-focused workgroups designed to strengthen and expand social prescribing in the United States. Each group will include 5–10 members from our Community of Practice and meet monthly for six months. Together, participants will identify at least three clear objectives, explore what is currently happening in their topic area, determine actions that can create immediate impact, and outline strategies to support long-term growth. New workgroups will be announced throughout the year, and we are inviting passionate Community of Practice members to apply. Submit your application today to be considered for a Social Prescribing Workgroup and help shape the future of social prescribing in the U.S.!
Link-worker workgroup
The link worker role is a cornerstone of the social prescribing system, serving as the connection point between medical professionals, community resources, and individuals in need of support. Link workers provide critical assessments, strengthen community connections, contribute essential research data, and facilitate social prescriptions.
This workgroup will examine how link worker roles are currently utilized in U.S. social prescribing networks, identify other individuals or organizations acting as link workers, explore funding needs for expansion, and develop strategies for training and data collection.
Applications are open through November 2025. Group selection and scheduling will take place in December, with the workgroup running January–June 2026.
